Factors Influencing Participation In Professional Developmental Activities Among Nursing Personnel

Introduction: Professional Developmental Activities (PDA) are the means to update health care providers with new knowledge and help them provide quality better patient outcomes. This study aims determine factors that influence participation in professional development activities among nursing personnel. 
 Methods: A cross sectional was conducted nurses Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgung, Kathmandu, Nepal. Simple random sampling technique used collect data. Data collected through self-administered semi-structured questionnaire. The data were analysed for descriptive inferential statistics using SPSS version 20.
 Results: Total 124 participated study. Most (88.7%) working as a staff nurse. Majority (60.5%) of had PDA within last 12 months. most common which motivated participate family / spouse support improve (98.7%). major hindering shortage (97.9%), lack cost (91.8%). Chi-square Fisher exact tests test association selected variables significant seen between participants designation categorised nurse, senior nurse charge (p < 0.008) those who involved developmental activities.
 Conclusions: Based on findings, concluded there several either or motivating related work, family, financial, personal career contributes PDA.
